Massive data centers are being proposed at breakneck speed across the country — and communities are fighting back.
Big Tech profits are not worth the utter devastation these facilities cause: thousands of acres, millions of gallons of water, sky-high utility bills, scarce water for drinking and farming, and so much more.

Public anger is at a fever pitch. In Monterey Park, California, voters just passed the country’s first-ever ban on data centers – by a landslide 86%. In Ohio, the Republican governor slammed the brakes on new tax breaks for these billion-dollar projects.
While AI-funded politicians from both parties try to claim these water-hogging, power-thirsty facilities mean jobs and prosperity, we’re working to shut them down. Our Revolution is organizing side by side with local advocates where these facilities threaten to move in, and this week we’re launching a national coalition to stop this takeover.
In the Senate, Bernie is again showing what leadership looks like, demanding Congress pass a nationwide moratorium on new data centers – and we ALL need to stand with him.
Will you stand with Bernie and DEMAND a federal moratorium – before more of our communities are drained dry?
We know what happens when data centers move in: 24-hour noise, water shortages, and sharp hikes to our power bills – on top of Trump’s energy price hikes. This is about ultra-wealthy investors destroying our communities for their own profits, while our neighborhoods, environment, and wallets pay the price.
The majority of new data center construction is planned for the areas hardest hit by drought. A recent investigation found that of 809 data centers set to be built, 517 are in communities that have struggled with drought for the past year.
Bernie is forging ahead with a bold, clear vision: a moratorium on new data centers until we can pass clear regulations protecting our communities. But he’s not stopping there. He’s also demanded a 50% public ownership stake in AI giants, so their profits benefit everyone, not just Silicon Valley investors. Even Trump and OpenAI’s CEO are saying the public deserves a share!

Bernie’s plans are picking up momentum because the public is saying NOT ON OUR WATCH. Nobody wants these gigantic data centers – and one community after the next is saying NO.
Our Revolution is recruiting our 30,000-strong Citizen Action Team to bring relentless outside pressure: calling, organizing, and showing up to stand up for community needs. And while we organize locally, we ALSO need to be backing Bernie’s call for a pause on the construction of new facilities until Congress passes regulations to protect our communities.
Sign on to stand with Bernie and demand a halt to reckless AI data centers – before it’s too late.
When we organize, we win.
Our Revolution
